Architektursalon Kassel

The "ARCHITEKTURSALON KASSEL" is an idealistic non-profit project. We want to promote interdisciplinary contacts on the field of architecture and urban studies. We - Sylvia Stoebe und Michael Krauss, profession architects - initiated this platform to encourage the communication between architects, urban planers, sociologists and psychologists. The "ARCHITEKTURSALON KASSEL" - founded in 2002 - is a forum for discussing results of current research and future visions about actually questions dealing with the city of today. We know the problems by working between different disciplines, but we want to help to bridge the gap. For this purpose we want to ask architects, urban planers, sociologist, psychologists and artists to come together, to meet each other irregularly in interdisciplinary groups at the "ARCHITEKTURSALON" in Kassel , in the middle of Germany .

Since the beginning in 2002 we come together nearly every month to speak about actual questions and problems. In 2002/2003 we talked about several themes in small groups in our private house. In 2003/2004 we chose the theme “SPACE” and invited interesting speakers. In 2004/2005 we cooperated with the “KASSELER ARCHITEKTURZENRUM” and organized speeches about the topic “BAUKULTUR”. The next program 2005/2006 dealt about “THE ACTUALITY OF MODERNITY AND THE MODERN FIFTIES”, especially in Kassel . For 2007 we plan to organize a symposium in Berlin . Topic is the “HANSAVIERTEL”, which has in 2007 his 50^th birthday. We ask for the effects or impacts on city planning the next 25 years, especially on the documenta urbana in Kassel , built in 1982. In autumn and winter we cooperate with the FILMLADEN KASSEL and concentrate on 100 Years history of film, on the connection between “FILM, SPACE AND ARCHITECTURE”.
